Summer has arrived and we are all feeling the heat!
I have been busy lately doing many one on one sessions, talking about what is happening astrologically and karmic-ly and of course, personally.
It seems that change and movement are in the air. But, first, we need to do the work that will get us where we want to go.
I chose the card for this blog instead of letting my beloved tarot deck dictate the choice. I selected this card because it has shown up *so* often in this past month that I feel as though the universe was waving her arms at me saying “pick this card”, so, I did!
The card, the 5 of Swords, is not usually a big favorite. The picture lacks vibrant color. It shows 3 figures who are clearly not working together. They are in various stages of being over-burdened, burned out and in contemplation of walking away.
In general, I find that the 5 are about struggle, challenges or difficulties we are experiencing. The good news about this is that I also find the 5’s to be temporary, meaning that once you learn the lesson, it is time to move on (to prettier pictures).
Earlier this month I was reading an article in the NY Times. The article was called The Busy Trap, and you can find it here. In a nutshell, the article talks about how all of us are so busy with the many obligations, committments and activities in our lives, that we are missing out on all of the good stuff.
I felt this resonated not only for myself but also for so many of the clients and querants that I have read cards for these past few weeks.
So, with almost half of July remaining and all of the wonderful month of August, I challenge you to let go of some of the busy and to stop and smell the roses. Leave the message of the 5 of Swords behind and as you move forward make a conscious effort to make real connections and spend your time doing something that will truly make you happy and brighten your day. Make this a summer to remember.
I welcome you to share with me here how that is working for you, and/or how the 5 of swords is showing up in your life. What one step can you take today that will lead you towards liberation? Where in your life have you taken on more than you can handle? How can you delegate or share the burden?
