Are you fired up for spring? If you are thinking, not yet, don’t worry because the Knight of Wands is—and believe me—he has got enough fire for us all!
About The Knight of Wands
Knights are one-quarter of the tarot deck’s Court Card family. The Queen and King characterize parents or elders, the Knight the young adult, and the Page, the child. A Knight has enough experience under his belt to know what he’s doing (kind of), but nowhere near the whole life experience of the Queen and King. Knights, while often strong and smart, can sometimes prove unruly, impatient, and impulsive.
The knights of the tarot are all seen on horseback and represent messengers because they deliver the news. Never still, they reflect movement, change, and action.
Fiery Energy
The Knight of Wands is by far the bravest of all the knights. He fears nothing, will try anything and is willing to risk it all as he gallops through life at a breakneck pace. The first to volunteer for a dangerous mission, the Knight of Wands adventurously pursues whatever he believes in. And boy, does he love his freedom! Dynamic, charming, and irresistible, he’s the archetypal hero who loves travel.
Representing fiery energy, the Knight of Wands wears a bright yellow tunic over his shiny armor suit of armor whose edges and sleeves mimic flames. Covered in salamanders—which are known to be able to walk through fire—his tunic symbolizes endurance and immortality, while the flames speak of his inner passion.
Do you want to know a little secret about the energy of this Knight? Look at his horse’s legs. The Knight of Wands is prancing. What does this tell us about him? He can sometimes be a bit of a showboat, so focused on fame, glory, or being the best that his fiery nature makes him highly insistent, overly ambitious, and (at times) aggressive.
Right now, he’s all charged up about change as we move from winter toward spring in the northern hemisphere. As a mediator of that change, he alerts us that change is part of the natural order of life. His passion and enthusiasm for adventure become infectious—it’s hard to ignore the Knight of Wands when he prances into your life!
What kind of change might the Knight of Wands be signaling to you?

Ah, adventure! What signals are you getting that may be telling you that change is at hand? Whatever you are contemplating, the Knight of Wands ushers in a spirit of optimism about your future.
