Embracing Change as an Adventure 🚗😎
They say that the only constant in life is change. In last week’s newsletter, Navigating the Plot Twists – Six of Swords, we discussed approaching life transitions by viewing them as opportunities and welcoming change as an adventure. This week, let’s discuss finding freedom in the Six of Swords.
While it’s true that to move forward, we must take steps to advance our life’s path, the Six of Swords isn’t solely about physical movement. This card beautifully intertwines with the themes of healing and finding closure.
If we’re honest, we all carry some form of emotional baggage, whether heartbreak, regret, or those pesky worries that keep us up at night. The Six of Swords is stepping in to say it’s time to unload that cargo. It’s time to let go of what’s weighing you down emotionally and finally start to heal.
Emotional closure isn’t about forgetting about events from your past. It’s about finding peace within it. My client Emily* (name changed) is on this path. But, before she took the first step on this path, she carried the weight of old heartaches and regrets like a suitcase full of memories she couldn’t let go of.
Healing Begins with Closure ❤️🩹
During this chapter of her life, the Six of Swords appeared in a reading we were doing, a gentle reminder that healing begins with closure. Closure is your heart’s way of saying, “I’ve learned, I’ve grown, and now I can release what no longer serves me.” Sometimes, this can even mean forgiving yourself. That’s a tough one.
Here’s a simple exercise to help you find closure on issues big and small:
- Create a Sacred Space – Find a quiet corner where you feel comfortable and won’t be disturbed.
- Write and release – Take a pen and paper. Write down memories or feelings you’re ready to release. As you write, imagine transferring the emotion onto the paper, freeing them.
- Offer Forgiveness – Forgive yourself and anyone else involved in the memory. Repeat “I forgive and release” like a gentle mantra, or use the Hawaiian Ho’oponono mantra: “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.”
- Symbolic Release – Light a candle or visualize the written words transforming into paper boats that carry the weight of the past as they float away.
- Reflect – Breathe deeply. Embrace the sense of lightness and peace that comes with letting go.
The Six of Swords teaches us that closure isn’t a one-time event. It’s a journey.
“Walking on Air” – The Feeling of Letting Go
Writing this, the phrase “walking on air” came to mind, which I found funny and ironic because the swords are the suit of air!
- When was the last time you felt like you were walking on air?
- How would that feel?
Dig deep and find the courage to say goodbye to something that weighs you down and find out!
