Hello and welcome to my new subscribers.
It is officially summer! School is out, summer movies have arrived, new relationships are starting, relationships that are no longer working are ending and we are all as busy as bees going and doing!
Life moves us forward at a brisk pace. We are all changing, growing, stretching, achieving, shedding skins and figuring it out.
So many readings this past month have been about growth and change, both in relationships and work. And, as most of us know, along with growth and change often comes growing pains.
Enter the Three of Swords!
I like to call the Three of Swords, the card of necessary truths. Meaning, the information which has surfaced, though possibly not the most welcome, is necessary for us to know in order to make choices and move forward in the most positive way. For example, maybe important information that had been concealed from you has suddenly come out. Or, possibly someone you thought was a friend has betrayed your trust. Or, maybe an action that was not well thought out (on your end) has gotten you into some trouble. As we have seen play out all over the internet (Paula Deen anyone?), it happens!
The traditional meanings of the Three of Swords are rejection, heartbreak. betrayal. loneliness, being disappointed, emotional pain, discovering a painful truth, being let down, breaking your word, finding your trust has been misplaced, feeling isolated from loved one(s), and being deserted in a time of need. Indeed, this card is no barrel of monkeys!
Now, let’s turn the tables on this card. Let’s talk about the upside, because, as we know, in tarot there is always a silver lining to the dark cloud.
Our perception of what is happening during this time is ultimately the reality that we will be living with. We must take the necessary truths that the Three of Swords brings us and look at them as a learning opportunity. Changing your thoughts from ‘this is bad’ to ‘this is a chance for me to make the changes I have been thinking about’, or ‘this is a good time for me to really ask myself what would make me happy’ or ‘this is a chance for me to make things right’.
The Three of Swords is also about releasing and cleansing. When a major loss or setback occurs, expressing your sadness for the loss is part of the healing process. Have a good cry, write it all out in a journal or hit the gym and take it out on the treadmill.
Upsides to the Three of Swords include: Clarity, faith, focus, centering, decision, maturation, self examination, obtaining balance and paying attention.
A life without challenges is a life without growth and change. How we handle these hurdles dictates what happens next. You get to decide how this story ends.
Some questions you can ask: Am I being totally honest with myself about my situation? What ‘truths’ am I hiding from? How can I see things more clearly? What do I need to release in order to move forward?
My summer special continues . . . a 30 minute reading for $50. Skype, phone or in person. Refer a friend or reach out to me yourself at dina@dinaberrin.com. Thank you for the referrals!
As always, I love to hear feedback, thoughts, experiences, etc.
Until the next time . . . .
