Are you ready to ditch winter? For some of us, March brings feelings of boredom and dissatisfaction, leading us to daydream about the end of winter. This month, let’s talk about the Four of Cups. It’s also considered the daydream card and I find it interesting that these emotions are traditionally associated with this card.
The boy lacks the energy to motivate himself to act, and is either deep in contemplation about his current situation or is living in a fantasy world where the harsh reality of his day-to-day life is (temporarily) forgotten.
Stay Present: Here and Now
What’s happening for you this month as the Four of Cups arrives on the scene?
Do you envision how your life could be if that ideal past relationship or job offer had worked out? Do you think about what you should have said or done in certain situations to achieve a better outcome? Maybe you’re stuck in the present with a restless winter mentality while your imagination is running wild, eager to embrace a happier, more exciting future.
While sometimes it’s nice to disappear into a dream world—especially to escape dissatisfaction—the energy in the Four of Cups reminds you that it’s important to stay present in the here and now. Why? Because now is where life happens and it’s filled with abundance, positive energy, and endless possibilities!
When you recognize the boundlessness of now, the Four of Cups is reminding you to have a more positive mindset and see the many gifts available to you right here, right now.
Even the view from the window as the sun illuminates the ice melting on the walkway may strike you as uniquely beautiful. That wonderful cup of coffee you had this morning made you feel refreshed, awake, and alive! Or perhaps it’s that call from a friend reminding you that they miss you.
Granted, these are little things, but that’s what counts as long as we choose to cherish them rather than forego them in favor of a dream world where nothing is real.
As we enter March, here’s your challenge: What are you grateful for in the present moment?
I’d love to hear from you, so email me at Dina@DinaBerrin.com and let me know! I’m all ears!
