Hello July!
As I prepared to write this blog, I went from my normal speedy pace to a slower, more thoughtful mindset.
I had a moment to take in the hustle and bustle of the streets, neighborhoods, stores and parks. Everyone is on the move. Packing/shopping for the holiday weekend, enjoying a drink or meal out, heading off to a yoga class, a concert in the park or vying (or dying) for Hamilton tickets.
Summer is here and it is literally taking off with a bang (and some fireworks) this coming weekend here in the US. Whatever your plan, please be safe and have fun! But first . . . the Queen of Cups.
Known for her strong sense of intuition, the Queen of Cups is compassionate, nurturing and gentle. She is creative, artistic and inspired. Though her vivid imagination can sometimes result in distraction, she is an excellent counselor/adviser to those in need of advice, and a caring shoulder to cry on.
Her message is to listen and pay close attention to that which you care and feel deeply about.
Cups cards are about emotions (positive and negative), love, relationships, romance, happiness, intuition, psychic abilities and spiritual connections.
Queens tend to be very inwardly focused, private, composed and in control.
The Queen of Cups is the astrological sign of Cancer. The sign of the crab. Cancer has both positive and negative qualities, many of which show up in the Queen of Cups: Tenacity, intuitive, sensitive and loyal vs. temperamental, insecure and moody.
The picture on the card shows her seated on the shoreline in her beautiful stone throne. I am immediately drawn to the big, fancy and unusual cup. Most of the cups we encounter in this suit are open. This cup had a lid (or dome!) that looks like it could belong on the top of a fancy building or church.
The decorative lid has two meanings. One: Her cups is closed. Her secrets remain unseen, sometimes, even to her. She is enigmatic. Two: The decorative lid can be seen as holding a deep and valuable love. This is a card of devotion, tenderness and loyalty.
Did you notice the arms of the cup are crab claws (referencing her sign of Cancer)? Shells and shellfish are associated with cycles, regeneration and protection. Old shells are cast off when it is time for a new one. This happens to us as well, although not always in such obvious ways.
Are you feeling the love yet? Food for thought: Do you need a moment barefoot by the water? Do you trust your gut instincts and intuition? Why or why not? When making decisions, are you relying on fact or instinct? What needs to be protected? Is it time to hit the crab shack?
Whether your pace is fast or slow, be sure to listen . . . to you!
I am available for private readings in the city this summer. Please reach out to schedule yours. Or, drop me a line and let me know how the Queen of Cups is showing up for you.
Until the next time. . . .
