Greetings and warm tidings to all of those new to my blog. If you are receiving this there is a good chance you have had a reading from me recently. I like to keep the good vibrations of tarot coming your way and hopefully you will be inspired to use it as you move forward on your path.
Was it just me, or did January show up like a bear this year? There seemed to be little time to pause and reflect about where to go or what to do for 2014. For so many clients and party guests that I have been reading for, it seems that January arrived full of brawn and bluster, and has been pushing us to stretch and grow. I hand picked our card for this posting. It is a card I have seen a lot this month and it also has a nice tidy lesson for us to take with us.
So, let’s meet the LORD OF DOMINION . . . the Two of Wands. By the way, this is his real title, not one that I cooked up. Kind of how in WWE the wrestlers have their real name and a title they go by . . .ie THE ROCK and Dwayne Johnson? Similar theory. The title give us more information and insight as to who this guy really is. So, back to tarot . . .
The Two of Wands represents opportunity, especially in business.
The Two of Wands often brings the decision of whether to continue in the direction you have been traveling or to go in search of new experiences, or a new direction. It can suggest that you are bored with your current situation and want more. How you feel and how others experience you may be at odds. On the outside it may appear that you have it all and are very successful, but, on the inside, questions and changes have been going on for quite some time. Maybe you have a new plan of action or the desire to do something other than where you are today? You may feel that your inner fires have been burning on low and that you are in desperate need of something new. A change of scenery, direction, career, or new life altogether.
The Two of Wands is also about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone into the area of discovery. Discovery of the self, the world and all of its experiences. Through this card you gain confidence, courage and you become clearer about your creative process and goal setting. Along with this comes the feeling of expansion and ultimately, fulfillment. It is time to take your idea and make it a plan.
The Two of Wands can also stand for boldness and creativity. When you see this card it may indicate that the timing is right for a daring and inventive move that may just surprise everyone. It is not a time to be subtle.
Let’s look at some of the images in the card and what they symbolize. The wand fastened to the wall represents the success that you have already achieved. The second wand represents a new undertaking. The globe the man holds suggests the tremendous potential for success. The Rose, a symbol of purity, promise, beauty, new beginnings and hope is a reminder that we must take the opportunity to recognize the beauty around us. The individual in the card looking out to sea suggests trade and may indicate strong partnerships and alliances. The colors are few in this card but include an orange tunic which indicates an enthusiasm for life, a brown over garment which is the color of earth referring to his commitments and obligations, and a red hat which references a passion for adventure.
Some questions we might ask ourselves as we think about this card and its meaning, and how it corresponds to where we are in our own lives: Where do I need to push past my comfort zone? As I look to move forward, how/where do I find I am distracted? Where have I delayed taking the initiative to do something bold? Am I as well informed as I need to be to decide my next step? What ideas am I bringing together in a new and different way? What action can I take now to ensure myself a stronger position in the future?
