Let’s talk about Page of Cups – Child’s Play! To recap from last week, we learned that the elaborately dressed Page has a creative and sensitive personality to match his whimsical outfit. While he may be young and impressionable, he is also creative, artistic, and naive. May we all have the courage to show up at a holiday party in such style! This week, let’s dig into why the Page of Cups is showing up now.
The Inner Child
While the Page signifies youth and naivety, it symbolizes the creative inner child. The inner child is the part of you—no matter your age—that can still be amazed and full of wonder and curiosity. While everyone has creative energy, we all express it differently. The Page of Cups showing up now is an invitation to play, find inspiration in unexpected things, and be open to creating something beautiful in the world. To put it simply, the Page of Cups follows his heart.
A master of communicating his feelings through creativity, the Page can access the emotions tied to difficult situations with words. He lightens the hearts of others with his words and his actions.
Finding Joy
As I write about the Page, my mind goes back to a day earlier this summer when I dropped my Cavapoo puppy, Rocky, off for an afternoon with my dad. Dad couldn’t wait to get the doggie seat belt into his car, head to the dog run, and walk him around the park. He was so proud and eager to show him off. Returning later that day, I found Dad full of funny stories of the day’s events—one had him laughing so hard he was bent over and holding the wall for support. When Rocky is around, or we mention his name, my dad lights up and resembles a giddy little boy. And Rocky loves my dad as well. What a gift! Seeing my dad in this Page of Cups light was such a revelation. Who knew he had this in him?
And speaking of pets, let’s talk about the fish you see stationed in the Page’s cup. This intuitive fish, popping up from the water, represents the unconscious. It refers to the depth, creative wisdom, and luck brought by the Page. The Page of Cups swims deep within his creative subconscious, not giving much thought to it and not yet having learned how to protect or hide who he is – and isn’t that refreshing?
To answer the question we began with. The Page of Cups reminds you to pay attention to your inner child. Do something crafty, imaginative, or artistic – and make sure it’s purely for the joy of it and without fear of judgment.
