Hello April and welcome to my newest readers!
Isn’t it great when a purely positive card shows up as the monthly energy? I love being the bearer of good news. I can literally feel the love radiating back to me.
Other times, and I see this in my readings as well, you look at the image in the card and wonder, what is going on here? You cross your arms in front of you, give yourself a little extra space at the table and you wonder, how does this relate to me?
Luckily for you, positive or not, I am here to give you all the deets. I am also going to share some insider notes from my own tarot notebook. Let me set the stage . . .
There’s a lot going on this month as we enter April.
The Nine of Wands is a mix of challenges, hope and accomplishment. Achievement doesn’t come easily and from the look of things, this guy has been through some rough times. Bandaged head and all, he has seen his share of battles. He may be down, but, you would be making a mistake to count him as out. With the look of determination in his eyes and a fire in his belly, he pushes forward with strength of character and resilience.
Wands are the suit of fire, they represent our creativity, ideas and action. Wands are hot and passionate and are known to move with swiftness and haste.
A key message with the Nine of Wands is to resist the impulsive, knee jerk reaction normally associated with this suit. This is a time of patience and perseverance. A time to be watchful and observant. It is best to wait and see what is really going on, to clearly think things out.
The Nine of Wands is where you want to give up. You have reached a point where you are worn out, exhausted and fed up. Maybe you have approached something in the wrong way, or underestimated a situation? You are feeling guarded and unsure. You want to fix it, but how?
It is time to take a step back, time to regroup. You have the will, grit and determination to succeed. I am speaking of an inner strength. A strength you may not actually realize you have, that is, until you actually need it. Now might be a good time to mention his title, The Lord of Great Strength.
The Nine’s of the tarot are about initiation, integration, luck, fate, taking control and living by example. Interestingly, “9” is the number of the humanitarian.
When not working to its fullest potential, we see someone who is not a risk taker, or who is fearful they will be unable to see their commitment through to the end. When reversed, the Nine of Wands becomes stubborn, uncompromising and prideful.
Additional information about the card is hidden in its imagery and scenery. Have you ever heard of the term ‘stage card’? You are looking at one right now.
A stage card is a concept where the scene illustrated on the card resembles a stage backdrop. The figure does not appear to be part of the scene, they are just placed in front of it. You can easily identify these cards by a line or border that separates them from the background of the card.
So, what does this mean? Learn that and more a here:
A few questions to think about this month: Am I prepared to carry this idea/project to its completion? What needs to be protected? Which idea is closest to my heart? Where should I be directing my attention? What is my greatest strength? Is this situation real or an illusion? Who is pretending to be someone they are not? Is it time for me to take center stage? Who knew I was so fierce?
The tarot cards are like mirrors, reflecting back themes, messages and ideas to help us move forward. We have all worked hard to get to where we are. With strength and courage we stand our ground, show our determination and if necessary, fight for what is ours.
I think we can all agree, this is no time for stage fright.
