I love to read. . . .and, not just the tarot cards!
I love to read books of all different topics and genres. I am forever jumping from the new, hot talked about book, to thrillers to business books and easy summer reads. I love reading the online reviews. Truth: I sometimes even go back to those reviews after I have read the book to decide if I agree or disagree. People sure see things differently (and I am just talking books here!).
It is so fun to disappear into someone else’s story, or to learn something totally different than what I know.
The World card reminds me of a great book you are about to finish. Only in tarot, the story is your life and you get to decide what happens next.
When the World card shows up it often speaks of the end of a cycle, or the beginning of a new phase of life. The exciting part of this is, that with the World, you are in the driver’s seat. You get to choose the most desirable ending to what was, and the most fitting beginning to what will be.
The accomplishment associated with this card has not come without hard work. You are maturing and growing. Do you find you are more at home within yourself? And, in the world in general?
The World card may also be an indication that you are now free to choose your own path. You can feel secure in your position, that you will be both respected and sought after.
The World is the last card in the series of Major Arcana cards, This vibrant, happy dancing figure is coming off quite a journey.
So what are we looking at? I like to pick out an image in the card that gives a little extra insight. Today I have chosen the leg formation of the figure dancing in the center of the card. This crossing of the legs represents . . . a crossroads. We all ultimately reach a point in our lives when it is time to choose what we want for ourselves.
When The World appears, it is a positive sign. Though it may be seen as the successful completion or a project or encouraging outcome to a situation, it is also more than just a yes or happy ending. The World is a feeling – an inner balance, a confidence, a healthy self image, a happiness with your body, an achievement of balance, feeling whole.
Some questions to ask ourselves at this time: What is complete/incomplete in my life right now? How can I engage in my life more fully (and leave the drama behind)? Where do I need more freedom? What do I want to achieve next? What is my favorite dance song (now turn it up!)?
We are all always moving and changing. The next book or chapter of your life is evolving right in front of you. What is your next move?
Are you a reader too? I love recommendations of books *you* have loved. Feel free to reach out with a new or old favorite.
Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Until the next time . . . .
