Welcome to the 3rd blog, Comfort Zone, in July’s Two of Wands series (I’m so happy you’re here 😊). We all know life is full of opportunities, especially when you step outside your comfort zone. But it’s grabbing hold of them that can be difficult. This card’s challenge is understanding how to balance your thoughts with your intuition. The Two of Wands represents coming to a crossroads based on a “should I stay or should I go” dilemma. While it’s true that this can be a very frustrating in-between place, it’s also a reminder not to get carried away with unrealistic fantasies and to think deeply before making any sudden changes. Why? Because you don’t want to act impulsively now and regret it later.
On the one hand, nothing ventured, nothing gained. On the other, waiting too long allows frustration to build to the point where you may jump the gun too soon. Waiting might also mean missing your best opportunity to experience life at its fullest now. Wands like to move and dread being restricted; even so, as humans, we’re wired to seek experiences that make us feel comfortable. The Two of Wands tells you that intuition is to be surrendered to, not controlled, and you must be willing to make yourself slightly uncomfortable if you want to sharpen your intuitive skills.
How do you do this? Here’s my tarot coach approach idea:
- Peruse the Two of Wands and jot down which image in the card you’re most drawn to
- Next, do the same with the color that jumps out at you most
- Finally, define what feelings this card elicits in you
As you consider which image, color, and emotion you most resonate with, try putting them together in a sentence. For example, maybe the globe catches your attention the most. And the lush green color of the foliage behind the man speaks loudest to you. Finally, perhaps this card makes you feel nostalgic. Hmm…it’s a small world, but beyond it lies one rich and teeming with life. Maybe you’re just a tiny bit sad about leaving your small but comfortable world behind. But at the same time, you know that despite feeling some resistance to change, you yearn to venture beyond its borders to discover and explore the possibility of an even greater adventure.
Trying this exercise can take you a long way toward pushing yourself outside your comfort zone to grow and truly pursue a life that aligns with your achievable dreams. Like a rarely used muscle, the more you exercise calling on your intuition, the closer you’ll come to finding real answers that balance your rational mind with the direct knowing your intuitive mind possesses.
