Should you stay or should you go? (Did you miss last week’s post? You can check it out here.) Let’s dig deeper by exploring this Two of Wands theme (indecision vs. intuition) to figure out why you are being asked to decide what is next for you.
Return with me to the castle wall where the figure in the Two of Wands appears to have it all. He’s likely envied for his prosperity and position, yet he wants something more, something different. It’s not that he feels something is wrong—it’s more that he’s bored with or has outgrown his current life situation. However, what he wants can’t be found behind his castle’s safe, secure walls. As he gazes out over the water, he longs for adventure, desiring not just to hold the world in the palm of his hands but rather to go out and experience life. He faces deciding whether he should leave the confines of his safe, comfortable, predictable life and go off searching for new—possibly risky—adventures.
The Two of Wands isn’t known for its patience! As noted last week, one wand in this card is eager to move, to fly, while the other remains still, unable to move, leaving this man frozen with indecision. The figure in the card wants to move but isn’t sure how things will go. So, he waits. Meanwhile, his frustration continues to grow. You can feel his dilemma, right?
Indecision vs. intuition – what to do?
Since fiery wands represent inspiration, creativity, and the ability to move freely, they include your ability to access the more intuitive parts of your mind. The essence of the Two of Wands lies in the singular unbound wand the man has perched on the stone wall and holds so it won’t fall over. It can’t stand on its own. It’s wobbly, like his trust in himself.
Meanwhile, the mountains of truth loom large in the background and represent his ambitious goals. He is supporting the wand—not the other way around—meaning he has not yet built enough strength, trust, and confidence that if he lets it fly, it will hit the intended target: his hopes and dreams.
The second stationary wand on the wall illustrates he’s trying to take charge of his decision-making by leaving nothing to chance. Wracking his brain for the correct answer is not how to be in flow with the Two of Wands. This card urges him to trust his intuition.
Intuition, described as knowing without learning, often arrives in a flash and seemingly out of nowhere! It’s an all-of-a-sudden, you-just-know kind of thing. Pushing outside your comfort zone can help you grow intuitively toward pursuing a life that aligns—as closely as possible—with your dreams.
Trust In Your Intuition
The Two of Wands tells us that intuition must be surrendered to, not controlled. But we must be willing to make ourselves slightly uncomfortable to sharpen our intuitive skills. Knowing if you’re making the “right” decision lies with placing more trust in your intuition. You know, that part of you has been bubbling up from within and yearns for something new and exciting.
In the end, it’s your intuition that can get you moving!
Next week, I’ll discuss how this card can help prompt the appropriate decision—one that’s perfect for you!
Til then, ever upward!
