It’s February!
After the bright lights and beautiful greens of the holiday season are taken down and lovingly tucked back in their boxes, we enter the season of winter in real time. January can feel cold, dark and lacking in cheer. Wouldn’t it be perfect to find something bright, shiny and new to focus your attention on? For me, that irresistible something involves learning. This past month I did a deep dive intensive into the tarot deck. AND, I offered a totally fun Girls Night Out with tarot and wine. I mean, what is more perfect that tarot paired with wine, right?
Our card this month, the Page of Pentacles, is also a studious learner.
Grab a seat, class is starting.
PAGE OF PENTACLES
Pages are often viewed as the princesses of the tarot deck, but can also be viewed as male or female. They are the youngest court card and often stand for children, a student or apprentice. Sensitive, playful and aware, they are easily able to move smoothly through life’s transitions. Pages are dreamers who inspire creativity, manifestation and soul-searching.
Pentacles (which look like coins) are the element of earth and most often point to the areas in our lives that have to do with security and stability. When a Pentacle card shows up, we are often talking about job security, educational growth, investments, home, money and overall wealth.
The pentacles also represent the physical body and health. You may be waiting for test results or need to pay special attention to a health related situation. This Page loves physical activity and being outdoors – anyone up for a hike?. News of a pregnancy or birth is also a possibility.
The Page of Pentacles can be seen as a student of life. Ambitious and focused, s/he is studious, patient, curious and eager to learn.
In everyday life, you will find this page apprenticing, exploring business opportunities, discovering skills she didn’t know she had, starting a program to improve health/wellness, learning by doing and setting practical goals.
The Page of Pentacles is trustworthy and dependable. Being dependable, accepting others at their word and keeping her own word are the ethics s/he lives by.
The young energy of the Page can be seen as a metaphor of an early stage of a project or situation. Meaning, it is time to make your plans real in the world. And, this is a good time to start putting things in motion and putting your dreams into action.
With its connection to earth, this page is very practical and grounded. This is a time to work with what you’ve got, apply the tools at hand, use common sense and stop the daydreaming. Concentrate on what’s effective and a solution will present itself.
When not working to its highest good, this page can be full of doubt and unwilling to see the value in an opportunity. It can also signal a time to move past the beginning stages.

Some questions to consider this month: What is my dream? How can I take action towards my dream? What skill/talent do I need to enhance? How can I grow and expand my current position? Do others experience me as trustworthy and dependable? What does it mean for me to keep my word?
CHINESE NEW YEAR
The Chinese New Year is here! On February 5th, we celebrate the Year of the (earth) Pig. In China, the pig is a symbols for happiness, good luck and abundance. Pigs are known to be honest and fair. Additionally, they are creative, intelligent, thoughtful and responsible. They also have an intense thirst for knowledge. Though they may sometimes have a tendency to over-indulge, Pigs are known to be extremely generous and very social. Pigs are romantic, affectionate and monogamous (once they have committed to a relationship).
How can you use the earthy and dynamic yet solid energy of this month?
The Page of Pentacles, earth element and Pig all focus on learning, new opportunities, achievement and keeping it real.
Whether your classroom has 4 walls or it is a vision in your mind of you leaping off a cliff, it’s on.
