Hello September!
Tarot and Astrology go together like peanut butter and chocolate. They are both great alone, but together . . . rockets! The month of August was a powerhouse of astrological activity. Mars, the planet of energy, action and primal instincts has stirred up a lot in us for the past two months. This has required us to look more closely at our own behavior. How can we raise ourselves up? Finding a path of compassion and kindness over the use of unkind words and actions is a great start.
Does anyone have a crazy Mercury Retrograde experience or story? I managed to (mistakenly) send a new toilet seat to a friend that I (intentionally) sent a baby gift to on Amazon. I am not sure which one of us was more surprised. One thing I can say, the universe does have a sense of humor.
With the wild month of August now behind us, I am happy to share we are welcoming in a much more peaceful and calming energy.
The Star is one of the most positive cards in the tarot deck. Following the transformative and chaotic energy of the Tower, the Star is the calm after the storm. The heavy load you have been towing has been released. A new path is opening for you and is filled with clarity, hope, optimism, trust in oneself, purpose and freedom.
Real life has its ups and downs, and similarly, the tarot has its cycles as well. Through our most difficult and challenging experiences come our biggest breakthroughs and opportunities to rebuild. Naked, with nothing to hide, our figure offers hope, forgiveness, self-acceptance and gratitude.
In numerology, the Star (number 17) reduces down to the number eight. Eight represents inner strength, personal power and success.
The Star represents the astrological sign of Aquarius. In addition to being both creative and smart, Aquarians are also known for being a bit offbeat. Often viewing themselves as true individuals, they definitely march to the beat of their own drum. Full of ideas, the energy of the Star allows for natural talents to shine through. This sign, and through association, this card is seen as the humanitarian of the zodiac. This is an excellent time to get involved in charity work, environmental issues and/or to volunteer for something worthwhile. What can be done today that will make an impact?
The Star may also indicate fame or visibility. Are you preparing for your 15 minutes? The spotlight may very well be preparing to shine on you.
Freedom is another common association. In a relationship, the Star may indicate the cooling of intensity or the pursuit of separate hobbies or interests. The Star is a very karmic card and could also indicate a fated or destined connection.
Though the pitchers of water being held by our figure are never empty, sometimes, our own metaphorical pitchers are empty. When not working to its fullest potential, the optimistic and sunny outlook of this card may be replaced by pessimism. There is a fear or inability to see the options that are right in front of us and we may have a hard time moving forward. A reversal may indicate depression, someone who has lost their way or an overall inability to be open.
Simple and direct, this card has some beautiful images. Click here to hear all about it:

Questions: What brings you hope? What makes you indestructible? How is your star rising? What are you approaching with an open mind? What would make an impact? What would set you free? What does it mean for you to be naked? What is your dream?
Be courageous. Follow your inspiration.
Release your fears and be open.
Be a source of hope.
Find a way to lift people up by a small gesture or kindness.
Or, for levity, just imagine you were sent a toilet seat in the mail!
Shine your light.
Until the next time . . . .
