Welcome to week 3 of this month’s series. Let’s recap! Eight of Wands is a dynamic card representing quick action, hastiness, freedom, thinking on your feet, and progress. It’s unique because it’s the only minor arcana card in the tarot deck that features no human or animal—only eight wands flying through the air at Mach II. And, as we learned last week, it’s possible to read the energy of this card (and how it applies to you) loud and clear simply by trusting your intuition.
The aspects that make up the picture are equivalent to looking under a car’s hood. You get to see in real-time what makes the motor run. Using this metaphor, let’s add another spark plug and go deeper with the Eight of Wands.
The eights in tarot are recognized as symbols of structure, stability, and balance. They offer a guiding hand in the face of challenges and remind us to maintain a strong foundation as we navigate change. The Eight of Wands is associated with decisive action and control. These two go hand in hand. During times of upheaval and change, it’s tempting to be passive to avoid making hard decisions. The eight encourages you to step up, take control and make—sometimes speedy—choices that will place you on a collision course with your desired outcome. And at the same time, it emphasizes the importance of staying grounded. It’s essential to keep your foundational values clearly in sight when you’re making bold moves in your life.
The Eight of Wands reminds you of the importance of taking swift and decisive action, stability, and balance. Use the energy of this card to launch yourself forward and trust that you have the skills and intuition necessary to handle any situation that comes your way.
Stay tuned next week for a client reading where the (drumroll please 🥁) Eight of Wands makes an appearance.
Until then, ever upward!
