The end of 2020 is in sight, so let’s take a moment to pause and acknowledge you. Yes, 👉 YOU 👈. I acknowledge you for all of your hard work, testing your limits, shouldering extra responsibilities, toughing it out, and staying strong. For all of the stress, worry, information overload, slow progress, inability to delegate, and the freedoms that were taken away. I acknowledge you, today and every day because you keep going. You are fierce, courageous, and strong. Now, onto The Ten of Wands…
The Hardest Working Card In The Deck
The Ten of Wands is the hardest working card in the deck. It signifies ambition, assuming responsibility, discipline, doing the lion’s share of the work, pushing against the current, and the duality of success. Its appearance can indicate success. But also be a reminder that success can come at a cost like over-extending yourself, allowing your boundaries to be crossed, losing sight of priorities, and exhaustion. So what’s it all for?
It’s easy to lose sight of what’s important – to lose sight of you. We take on so much, trying to do all of the things that need to be done. So, what’s the message of this hard-charging card? Lighten up. Slow down. Cut back on duties and tasks. Do less. Say YES to what brings you pleasure. Bring balance to your life by weaving in joy.
Helping Others Is A Thing
The Ten of Wands indicates that life will continue to be tougher than usual for a time. Your job is to lighten things up where you can and allow others to help where possible. Helping others is a thing! People enjoy it and get great pleasure from it. You don’t have to do it all by yourself. That picture in the card says it all, right? Learn all about it in this awesome video I made for you.
What’s Important Has Become Glaringly Clear
Collectively, we have all felt the upheaval of 2020. Each of us can agree that struggle comes in many shapes and sizes. Through coaching and tarot, I’ve heard stories of lost jobs, health concerns, loneliness, isolation from friends/family, financial worries, and more. Working with clients on solutions to their challenges has been both a privilege and eye-opening. It also allowed me to see the imbalances that were present in my own life. I was giving away so much of myself that there was very little left for me. Overcommitted and overwhelmed, it felt like I was on a ride that I couldn’t get off. But that changed in March.
Suddenly, what’s important became glaringly clear. I needed to slow down, do less, and commit to living my values. Slowing down and letting it go has brought a new focus and purpose to my work and relationships. It has helped me clarify the coaching and divination work I am here to do. What are your values? Is it possible for you to have clarity?

Now, ask yourself these questions:
- If you could drop everything and focus on one thing, what would that one thing be?
- What does responsibility mean to you?
- Do you know what drives you?
- What makes you feel protected and secure?
- How are you feeling blocked or unable to see clearly?
- Do you know how much time are you devoting to your personal growth? Your happiness?
- Can you name something you are willing to give away?
- What no longer excites or energizes you?
In tarot, the Suit of Wands is a symbol of creativity. Wands are wild, free, and full of life. You are wild, free, and full of life. So, find the balance and find yourself. Leave the weighted responsibility of 2020 behind because 2021 is right around the corner. Release your burdens, the universe has your back.
Are you ready to go?
Ever upward!
